Rehabilitation Center in Rancho Santa Fe, CA

Headaches, dizziness, poor balance or slow thinking can linger long after a concussion, brain injury or stroke. We find which systems are still struggling and train them, one measured step at a time.

The True Performance rehabilitation center in Rancho Santa Fe works on the brain and balance side of recovery. We see athletes, teens, adults and families after a concussion, brain injury or stroke, and people whose dizziness or motion sensitivity will not settle. Care is chiropractic- and rehabilitation-led, starts with a detailed exam and is coordinated with your physician.

Every plan starts with one question: which systems are still struggling? We check balance, eye movement, coordination, reaction time and thinking speed, then choose the tools and the order.

This center is one part of our sports medicine clinic in Rancho Santa Fe, where brain rehab and performance care share one team.

Concussion Rehab

When headaches, dizziness, light sensitivity or brain fog outlast the first weeks, we test how your balance, eyes and thinking are working together. Then we build a concussion recovery program paced to your symptoms.

It can combine vestibular and eye-movement exercises, GyroStim, neurofeedback and cognitive training. We re-test as you go and adjust the plan.

Baseline Concussion Testing

A baseline test records how an athlete's brain is working while healthy, before the season starts. The appointment takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

If a head injury happens later, a re-test is compared with that record. The comparison informs a return-to-play decision made with the athlete's physician and school. Parents can read how pre-season baseline testing for student athletes works.

GyroStim Therapy

GyroStim is a computer-guided chair that turns you through controlled rotations while you aim at lit targets. It trains how your brain handles motion, balance and visual tracking.

Your exam sets the speed and length of every run, and the chair records your accuracy. See how a GyroStim session works, available at our Rancho Santa Fe office only.

TransLingual NeuroStimulation

TLNS sends gentle electrical pulses through a small device that rests on the tongue. Those signals travel along nerves linked to balance, movement and sensory processing.

Most people feel a mild tingling. We may use it before or alongside your balance and movement exercises, depending on your exam. Learn what a TLNS session involves.

How it works

How care works here

  1. We measure first

Your first visit is about 90 minutes, plus data and history gathering. We check balance, reflexes, eye movement, coordination and thinking.

  2. The findings choose the tools

The results set the order, the intensity and which tools we combine. Dizziness after a concussion needs a different start than coordination work after a stroke.

  3. We re-test and adjust

We re-check as you go. When your balance, speed or tolerance changes, the next challenge changes with it.

Questions

Questions about the rehabilitation center

Ask us: (858) 285-0073

Which service should I start with?

You do not need to choose. Your exam shows which systems need work, and we recommend the services that fit, alone or together.

Are rehabilitation sessions uncomfortable or intense?

Usually not. Sessions start at your current tolerance and build gradually. Visual, balance or thinking work can bring on short-lived tiredness or a small rise in symptoms, and we ease off when that happens.

Is it too late if my injury happened years ago?

Older injuries are still worth assessing, because the brain can keep adapting years after an injury. Long-standing problems often need a slower, longer plan, and your exam shows where to start.

How long does a rehabilitation program take?

It depends on the condition, how long symptoms have been there and how you respond. After your first exam we explain how often to come in and what the early stages look like.

How much does rehabilitation cost?

Cost depends on your exam findings, how many sessions your plan needs and which services it combines. We explain it on your complimentary intro call, before you commit.
